The Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre

The Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre (ANZIC-RC) is a bi-national intensive care clinical research methods centre. The ANZIC-RC assists with the design, funding and execution of clinical trials. It has access to experienced intensive care unit (ICU) researchers, data management and bio-statistical consultants, experienced project managers, epidemiologists and health economists. The ANZIC-RC has established comprehensive research programs from surveys and pilot studies through to large multi-centred, randomised controlled trials. It has the ability to support small, medium and/or large clinical trials.

The ANZIC-RC is a referral centre open to all ICU clinicians (including doctors, nurses and allied health professionals) offering a range of services from research advice through to full project management.

The ANZIC-RC also provides PhD or MD opportunities for clinicians interested in critical care research. PhD projects may be sub-studies of existing trials within the ANZIC-RC or may be novel, stand-alone projects. Typically, they have a clinical focus and are not basic science or lab-based research. For current PhD projects, please refer to the PhD section on our Staff webpage. For entry criteria, please refer to Monash University's PhD in Epidemiology "How to Apply" information. To discuss PhD or sabbatical opportunities at the ANZIC-RC please contact anzicrc@monash.edu.
